New Horizons is an evangelical, interdenominational church, and a member of the Calvary Chapel network of churches. Our vision for L’viv is founded upon prayer, studying God’s word, and sending people out to serve others. By covering L’viv in prayer we will see God work in the hearts of people resulting in radically changed lives. We are committed to filling one another with God’s word. It is through careful and meaningful study of the scriptures that lives are transformed as we are filled with God’s truth. We must be willing to give away our lives, therefore our vision includes sending well-equipped men and women into our city and beyond to teach and serve others.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen –Matthew 28:19
What would L’viv look like if strong godly men and women were bold and courageous, and used the gifts, talents and abilities God gave them to impact the lives of others? What would happen if Christians put loving God and others before themselves? How would our city be changed if we prayed specifically, and intelligently, believing that God is listening and answering? What would the lives of men, women, and families look like if we studied God’s word and applied it to our lives?
It has been said that 95 percent of the people in L’viv are Christians. That leaves five percent, or roughly 35,000 people who do not know and understand the hope and love God offers.
I am challenged by the question, “If your church were to close it’s doors, would anyone in your city miss you?” If we no longer served the people of L’viv, would the people of L’viv consider our absence a great loss?
At New Horizon’s we want to make a substantial difference in our city. Our vision is to reach the lost and broken who do not know Christ. We want to reach the 35,000 who are not Christians. Through prayer, the study and the application of God’s word, building friendships and serving our community, we want to impact L’viv for Christ. The result of how Jesus and His disciples lived produced a total transformation in the lives of the people they served. We want to do the same.
